Description

We have a few new people in this game, so I decided to include this page to introduce them to the game.

Maybe you've played this before…
This is Werewolf! You may have played something similar (and simpler) at a day camp or something and it may have been called Mafia. This is essentially that game, but on steroids.

The basic game goes like this. You have a group of people sitting in a group playing and one narrator. There are a few werewolves, a detective, and maybe an angel (everyone else is just a townsperson). Everyone closes their eyes and the town enters "nighttime", where the werewolves kill someone, then the angel saves someone, then the detective tries to figure out who the werewolves are. Everyone then opens their eyes and it goes to "daytime". They see who died, and then talk to each other and vote someone to be killed. This daytime/nighttime cycle repeats until the game is over.

Online Werewolf
Well, this game is basically the same thing, except no one is "just" a townsperson. Everyone has their own unique roles that involve killing people, saving people, or other stuff. Also, everyone has two roles, to enhance their power a little bit.

The way we play "online" like this: the "nighttime" and "daytime" each last 24-hours. This terminology is slightly confusing, I understand, so here's a breakdown:

Monday, April 21: Nighttime (you all use your powers to kill and save people)
Tuesday, April 22: Daytime (you all send me a name as your vote)
Wednesday, April 23: Nighttime
Thursday, April 24: Daytime
Friday, April 25: Nighttime
   …etc.

Since we're not all in the same room, we use Facebook and this blog to communicate. If you're a werewolf, I'll add you to a separate thread so you can communicate with the pack easier. Be sure to check the Facebook group at least every day. Send me (Joey) your names for people you want to vote/kill/save etc.

Keep in mind that once you send me names for your nighttime role, that's set in stone. Votes, on the other hand, can change as often as you want.

Remember…

This is a game of deception, alliances, and backstabbing. Don't be afraid to lie through your teeth to your friends. Never trust anyone. Only reveal your role if you have 100% confidence in somebody.

Hopefully it's pretty clear. Ask me anything if you're confused—I don't work and I'm not in school now so I've got all the time in the world to spend on Werewolf right now. Enjoy!
